It’s not uncommon for dancers to sustain injuries, and the Dancing With the Stars pros are no different. On the 2023 “Dancing With the Stars” live tourtwo different pros have picked up some nasty injuries so far.

Here’s what you need to know:

Kateryna Klishyna has a sprained ankle

Taking to her Instagram Stories, new Dancing With the Stars pro Kateryna Klishyna revealed that she recently injured her ankle and had to spend her day off from the tour on Jan. 9 at the doctor’s for X-rays.

“How did you spend your day off? Small update. Great news it’s not a break,” Klishyna wrote of their stories. “I have a sprained ankle. It will take time to heal, but I promise I’ll take good care of myself and recover quickly.”

Klishyna’s fans are understandably saddened to miss her on tour while she recovers.

“I was so excited to see her perform, she is absolutely amazing! Does anyone know if they have a replacement for her?” wrote a fan on Reddit.

Another fan talked about how JJ Rabone is the “swing” for the tour, which is the person who can stand in for one of the pros if they go down.

Pro dancer Britt Stewart confirmed that Rabone is the female swing and Ezra Sosa is the male swing in an Instagram postwrite, “We are so blessed to have two incredible swings @ezra.sosa and @jjrabone.”

So it’s possible that Rabone will step in for Klishnya if she needs to take some time off to tend her sprained ankle. In fact, it seems likely that Rabone will temporarily step in for Klishnya based on Rabone’s recent Instagram story about being separated from her 4-month-old baby Charles. the one on 29.8.

“I’m in New York City for a job and this is the first time I’ve been away from my baby in a week. The longest I’ve been away was probably nine hours for a rehearsal and I’d come over to his house, but that’s the first time away and it used to really hit me,” Rabone said on her Instagram Stories and added: “To all the moms out there who work and have to go away, lots of respect to you. That is not easy.”

In fact, on Reddit, A fan can’t believe it Rabone is dancing on the tour four months after giving birth and writes: “It looks like she only had a baby 4 months ago. Not that moms can’t work, but the logistics of being ‘on call’ as a swing set for a nationwide tour feels crazy hard to understand… That’s impressive.”

Hopefully Klishnya recovers quickly and Rabone can go home to her baby boy soon. But Klishnya isn’t the only pro with an injury. Pro Emma Slater also has some gruesome injuries to her feet.

Emma Slater’s feet are covered in blisters

In her Instagram stories (screengrabs above), Slater shared with her fans the huge blisters she has on both heels and also the fact that the big toe on her right foot has split at the ball of its foot and there is blood under the skin collects . She actually kicked off her Instagram story by warning fans that if you have a foot and/or blood problem, they should look the other way.

A fan on Reddit suggested that they might still be breaking in their new dancing shoes, writing, “I wonder if some of these injuries to Emma’s and probably some other dancers’ feet are due to new shoes? (i.e. they probably build up calluses over time.)”

said another fan that between Klishyna’s ankles and Emma Slater’s feet it looks like the tour is a bit broken and they’ve only been on it for a few days – how do they do it week after week after month?

“I saw [Kateryna’s] Knuckles – whoops. I hope she recovers quickly. Between that and Emma’s feet in her IG story the other night, I don’t know how those dancers do it all these weeks,” the fan wrote.

Last year, pro Daniella Karagach suffered an ankle injury that effectively took her off the tour permanently for the remaining dates. On March 12, she broke her ankle and missed the last 12 stops of performing. She was in a walking cast for months, although thankfully she recovered in time to compete in season 31.

The Dancing With the Stars live tour kicked off January 6 in Maryland and will run through March 12 when it concludes in Las Vegas. Celebrity guests this year include Gabby Windey, who will co-host alongside Slater, as well as Daniel Durant on February 1-14, Vinny Guadagnino on January 10, 11, 13 and 14, and the mother- Daughter team Heidi D’Amelio and Charli D’Amelio perform together on January 13th, March 10th and March 12th.
