In two Instagram posts, Witney is pictured with her family on vacation. In the first season, she and Carson are kissing baby Leo, who turns 1 year old on January 4, 2022. The family is standing in front of Cinderella’s castle in the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, and the photo is captioned “Happiest place on earth”.
In the comments, fans are forcing parents to go on duty in a crowded amusement park without masks, and some are concerned that Leo is too young to be vaccinated.
“It doesn’t look like anyone is wearing a mask,” one commenter added, “I wouldn’t even go to the grocery store let alone Disney.”
“We would never have been able to get through this without everyone getting on board! I love Whitney and her family, and just want them to be safe! ” another added later, “You guys are scaring me! You are not afraid without a mask! Everyone wants to have fun, but don’t take this risk! Sorry!”
Others further commented that it was because of such behavior that the pandemic went unchecked.
“They don’t care… .just because of people like this… that [the pandemic] still spreading like wild fire,” another commented.
Another commenter wrote, “Where’s your mask? Everyone thinks [they’re] such invincible, anything… look at all the people behind them in a CROWD with no masks, getting ventilators ready for the ignorant, especially with young children, I’m done It’s not me and my family. ”
In a reference to Witney’s expired Instagram story, one commenter couldn’t believe they took baby Leo on a trip in the haunted mansion, writing: “Love you guys but, I don’t You can’t believe you’ve taken your INFANT on a ride in a haunted house. Nightmares for life. His little brain is NOT TRUE what his eyes are taking in. Even if you explain and say it’s fine as you go on, he can’t understand the concept, only your reassuring tone but that won’t overwrite the impression of terror on your brain. him, it’s a sponge rn. 101 moments of bad parenting. ”
“Sorry but I don’t understand why people have to go on vacation when there’s a deadly virus!” wrote another fan. “You don’t just take the chance to get [sick] but think what it would do to a one year old baby. I thought you said you were talking bad? The virus rate is high anywhere on any given ship. Just say. ”
Some have defended Witney & Carson
Some of the comments were quick to defend Witney and Carson, pointing out that they are out and people need to “live life”.
“Live life. Be fearless. Be careful but don’t listen to the media anymore”, one person commented.
Another added, “Oh, please.. it’s THIS TWO YEARS… And they’re outside.”
A third said, “[Masks are] Outdoors optional. Stay home if you don’t like it.”
Another commenter called all the mask commenters “paranoid” and asked them to “stop judging.”
One person said the rate of illness on board was not high because passengers had to prove they had been vaccinated and tested negative before boarding.
However, that is not correct. While cruises may require vaccines and negative tests, there are still some problems. Based on NBC News, a Norwegian cruise line canceled a mid-trip cruise on January 15 due to pandemic-related issues, and passengers are currently stranded until the ship can return to New York.
And a New York Times Article from January 6 explores how although cruises say they’re a safe option right now, that’s not always the case. An incident on the Celebrity Apex Caribbean cruise ship saw a man named Richard Lewis test positive while on board and at first everything was fine but they quickly “became a nightmare” .
“The staff covered a lot of things, social distancing was being enforced between passengers and things just didn’t seem right,” Lewis said. “As we entered our second week, some of the employees we were close to disappeared and we discovered they had been isolated. Then I started developing symptoms and testing positive and that’s when it became a nightmare.”
The captain said there were 5 positive cases on board, but Lewis was later told there were 16 cases.
Lewis said: “I know the travel industry has suffered a lot and I am very supportive of getting travel back to normal, but the serious lack of transparency and the cover-up, and the cover-up Hiding them won’t help people make informed decisions.” .
A passenger from the Royal Caribbean cruise ship, Milly Parkinson, said that more than 50 people tested positive on the ship and then all other passengers without symptoms were allowed to disembark without testing. .
“I took the test because I had symptoms, but think of all the people without symptoms who just got off the train and went straight to the grocery store, restaurant or nightclub,” Parkinson said.
“Dancing With the Stars” has yet to be renewed for season 31. If renewed, it will return in September 2022.
