The Commerce Department’s report on new orders for durable goods — those designed to last at least three years — will show whether prices are soaring, interest rates are rising, and the economic outlook is on the rise. Not sure if that will affect demand in May.
The S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Home Price Index is expected to show that housing costs continued to rise at a high rate in April. Separate figures last week showed record prices for existing home sales in May as demand from buyers outstripped unusually low supply.
