In the second episode of the 31st season of “Dancing with the stars‘ Emma Slater and partner Trevor Donovan danced the rumba and were later questioned about their chemistry.

The partners danced to the Elvis song “Always on My Mind,” and it was a spicy dance that included lots of romantic and hot choreography. Before hitting the dance floor, in the pre-taped package, they talked about the chemistry that needs to be there for the rumba to hit.

“Almost like people should check it out, but they’re not sure if they should check it out,” Donovan Slater said in the package, and she agreed. He later added, “Emma and I hit it off from the start, so I think that’s going to help a lot.”

After their dance, co-host Alfonso Ribeiro asked if the chemistry was real, and Donovan shared that it was “100 percent truthful.”

“[There are] I make a lot of films with a romantic leading role [where] They have at least a couple of scenes that are intimate scenes and you’re in it [someone] who are very well married or who you just met, you’re not in a relationship so you have to make it work,” Donovan replied. “And thankfully, we’ve had a few weeks to get to know each other to become friends.”

The couple later left live on Instagram and Slater called Ribeiro about his “embarrassing” question.

“We love Alfonso even when he embarrasses us and asks awkward questions,” Slater said, laughing.

Slater says the partners have ‘great chemistry’

In an interview with reporters per person After the episode aired, Slater shared what she thought about their chemistry, though Donovan shared that he “passed out” while dancing.

Slater said she loved seeing Bruno Tonioli “lying on the judge’s table” and the judges smiling when the dance was over.

“Everyone was just so lovely and great with their comments and gave us such good feedback,” Slater shared. “It’s a really nice feeling because you really care what they say. We really get along very well. Rehearsals go so fast. We get along really well and have great chemistry which made this dance so much easier.”

Slater shared that she thought the dance went really well.

“I know we have this great connection, this great chemistry,” she said. “And so I fought really hard to create the environment where we can just be ourselves and be expressive, and we brought the steam, which is great. I think it was a dance that really needed it and it felt really good at the moment.”
