Professional Dancing With the Stars dancer Emma Slater has been on the show for 14 seasons, dancing with all kinds of celebrities and landing everywhere from first place to first eliminated couple. So who is your favorite partner over the years?

Emma Slater said Rashad Jennings is her favorite partner

In conversation with Atlantic City WeeklyEmma was asked about her favorite partner from the show, and she said Rashad Jennings, with whom she’s become “amazing friends” because of the show.

“My favorite partner was Rashad Jennings, who was an NFL running back for the New York Giants,” Emma said. “He was just the nicest guy and in the end we won which of course makes it that much better. It really clicked and we became fantastic friends and we still are today.”

Emma and Rashad were partners on season 24 of Dancing With the Stars, which aired in Spring 2017. They took first place, beating David Ross and Lindsay Arnold (second place) and Normani Kordei and Valentin Chmerkovskiy (third place). ) in the final. The highest finish Emma had achieved up until this season was fourth place.

Her kind words about Rashad definitely align with what she told Dancing With the Stars season 29 winner Kaitlyn Bristowe on an episode of Kaitlyn’s podcast “From the vine.” Emma revealed she never really had that much confidence until the season she won Dancing With the Stars.

“I never grew up thinking about starring in any kind of story,” Emma admitted, adding, “That’s why I never thought I’d be a serious competitor that could lead someone to victory.”

But when she won, she was angry at herself for not believing in herself anymore.

“I absolutely adored my partner Rashad Jennings and we remain very close to this day. But I was mad at myself because I really believed I would never win,” the dancer said, adding, “I told myself I would never say that again. I didn’t want to back myself into a corner and brand myself second or third. I wanted to take myself seriously.”

When Emma and Rashad won the Mirrorball Trophy, she posted a very cute tribute to him Instagram, and wrote: “Wow, this couldn’t be a more perfect end to the most incredible season we’ve ever had. Rashad, you already know what I think of you. I’m at a loss for words, but seeing you win this season and achieve something you thought you couldn’t has been the greatest joy of all for me. Seeing you so happy means more to me than gaining something for myself. I adore you. Congratulations partners! We made it!”

Emma also revealed why she loves the live tour so much

Speaking to Atlantic City Weekly, Emma also confessed that she loves the live tour because of the travel and also because the routines are so “smooth.”

“[W]When we’re on tour we move from city to city and we can see the different audiences. When we’re filming in the ballroom, we’re only in one place, so the travel aspect doesn’t matter,” said Emma.

She continued, “We don’t take every celeb on the tour either. We’re actually touring with Kaitlyn Bristowe right now… but other than that, we’re dancing with other professional dancers on tour. So the performances are more refined, more professional, have more energy, are a little bit more creative and we’re able to push the boundaries a little bit further to give the audience a really exciting show. And of course there’s no winner at the end, so it’s just a two-hour high-energy performance featuring all the dancers from ‘Dancing with the Stars’.”

Emma previously told US Weekly that she absolutely loves touring, probably more than most other dancers.

“I’m more into the tour than most people. I’ve done every single tour, I always will,” Emma said.

She also said during Kaitlyn’s podcast that after all these years on the road, it’s such a “family vibe” and she really likes it.

“You know someone’s going to cheat at cards. You know the boys are going to play, you know the girls are going to watch a rom-com or some fun stuff on TV. It’s just great. I love this environment so much. I definitely thrive in this family atmosphere,” said Emma.

The Dancing With the Stars live tour ended on March 27th. Dancing With the Stars has not yet been renewed for season 31. If extended, she will return in September 2022.
