Jose Enrique has claimed on his Instagram story It is ‘good news’ for Liverpool that Gabriel Jesus is moving to Arsenal and Raheem Sterling may be joining Chelsea.
The former Premier League left-back added that Arsenal’s arrival of Jesus this summer is a “terrific signing” from the club.
Liverpool and Manchester City have been the top dogs in the Premier League for a number of years, with both Jesus and Sterling having a huge part in their success.
On the final day of the 2021/22 Premier League season, Pep Guardiola helped Man City win their fourth Premier League title at the expense of Merseyside.
While Erling Haaland walked through the doors this summer amidst these rumors that Jesus and Sterling could be heading to the exit door.
Enrique thinks it’s positive for the Reds, possibly because Manchester City are losing some proven performers in the last third
“Great signing for Arsenal,” said Enrique. “Man City are selling him and probably Sterling to Chelsea it looks like.
“I think good news for us (Liverpool), Reds.”
WHO GETS THE BETTER DEAL, CHELSEA OR ARSENAL?
If both Arsenal and Chelsea complete the rumored transfers for Jesus and Sterling, who will get the better deal out of the pair?
There are suggestions that the Gunners will pay Manchester City £50m for their Brazil international, who has one year left on his contract.
While Sterling could return to London for a little less, with £45million steamrolled for the England international, he too has a year left on his current deal at Etihad.
Both Arsenal and Chelsea need more firepower in the new season and Mikel Arteta is keen to bring the number 9 to north London.
Thomas Tuchel is preparing to let Romelu Lukaku go after his rather disastrous return last summer, so he will need some extra goals in the dressing room.
Sterling is the better player between the two and at a seemingly lower price, Chelsea could get the better deal here.
