Almost a month after she unveiled her new rescue pup on social media, Hallmark Channel star Erin Krakow is clearly in love with little Willoughby — as are her Hallmark peers. Krakow first shared the dog with fans on Jan. 15, 2023, when she posted a photo to Instagram and Facebook of the tiny black dog with tan and white markings lounging on a bed. The little guy has since become a social media star as fans and Hallmark talent can’t get enough of the little guy.
Kraków adopted Willoughby with her ‘When Calls The Heart’ co-star – and unconfirmed but long-rumored beau – Ben Rosenbaum, who has also shared photos and videos of the dog on social media. According to Kraków’s post, they found the puppies – originally named Bubba – with them Tobie’s Little Dog Rescue, a foster family-based animal rescue organization in Los Angeles who was introduced to them by their Hallmark colleague Catherine Bell. Her contributions even inspired another Hallmark colleague, Andie MacDowell adopt their own little puppy from the same rescue organization.
In the weeks since Willoughby made his social media debut, Krakow has been sharing photos of their little pup peeks out his head her sweatshirt collar, hugging next to her face, and sit in a suitcase where Kraków had packed his little dog bed and chew toys. Meanwhile, Rosenbaum also featured Willoughby on his Instagram account, below a photo of him stowed in its transport box for a trip.
Hallmark stars swarm with new video of Erin Krakow’s pup
On February 10, Krakow posted an Instagram video of her hand-feeding the pup small pieces of apples, writing, “Willoughby loves apples and I love his little chews. sound on.”
Though every heartwarming post starring Willoughby generates thousands of likes, Kraków’s latest video has proven particularly swooning among her Hallmark peers.
Her When Calls The Heart co-star Pascale Hutton wrote, “Now I love his chews too!!!”
Another WCTH colleague, Andrea Brooks, commented with emojis: “The (apple) of your (eye)”
The social media account for the series, which recently announced that season 10 will premiere in July, left a comment that read, “If you google ‘nom nom nom’…”
But Willoughby’s apple crunching was not only well received by the Krakow series colleagues; Many other Hallmark stars also commented.
Lacey Chabert wrote: “He’s so adorable,” adding a red heart emoji.
Jonathan Bennett commented, “This is the best there is.”
Catherine Bell added: “Haha awwwwww” and a heart-eyed emoji.
Erin Krakow’s posts inspired Andie MacDowell to adopt her own little rescue pup

When Krakow first shared Willoughby on social media, she revealed that Bell had inspired her to do it. Meanwhile, Kraków’s post inspired fellow Andie MacDowell, who stars in Hallmark’s The Way Home, to adopt her own little pup from the same rescue organization.
In her first post about Willoughby, Krakow thanked Bell – who recently revealed she is working on a new film – for helping connect her and Rosenbaum to Tobie’s Small Dog Rescue. On January 8th the organization had posted a photo of Bell cradling a little puppy named Indy next to her kids. The family got a Chiweenie – a cross between a Chihuahua and a Dachshund, according to the World Animal Foundation – who was born a few days before Willoughby.
On Kraków’s first puppy post, MacDowell indicated that she was also interested in having a small puppy from the organization.
She wrote, “I’ve been looking at their dogs for quite a while now just waiting for something the right size to take with me at the right time,” to which Krakow replied, “Puppy play dates please!”
In Kraków’s Jan. 18 post, in which Willoughby peeks out of her sweatshirt, MacDowell wrote, “Will that be a set dog?
Kraków replied: “Call me! They were so nice and easy to work with. I’m sure they can help you find a dog that fits your lifestyle.”
MacDowell may have been concerned about her next dog’s temperament, given her past pet experiences. MacDowell’s previous dog, named after legendary actress Ava Gardner, was described in 2018 Profile of the New York Times the actress as a “panting, nervous, rescued Chihuahua-Boston Terrier mix” who “clinged to her lap” throughout the interview.
Three days after telling Krakow she wanted one to take on set with her, MacDowell had a new dog, according to a post from Tobie’s Small Dog Rescue. She adopted a little black and white puppy named Bev, whom she renamed Daisy Mae.
In response to her post, MacDowell wrote, “I love her so much, she’s my best friend already.”
MacDowell first revealed her new pup to her fans via her Instagram Stories on Jan. 23. Of a video of the pup running around a hiking trail with her, MacDowell wrote, “Hiking with my love my pup Daisy Mae.”
The next day, she shared another video in her stories of her holding Daisy Mae backstage on “The Late Late Show With James Corden.” February 10 MacDowell posted a video on her Instagram Stories of herself playing fetch with Daisy Mae in a house.
Upon seeing Krakow’s new Instagram video of Willoughby eating apples, the actress commented, “So so cute how old is he now?” Though Krakow hasn’t responded yet, Bell jumped in, writing, “Love this what we all have @tobiessmalldogrescue dogs now!!!”
