“Everybody likes all kinds of little things,” Dominic Keating said of his new project in a recent interview with Heavy. The “star trek: Enterprise” actor has teamed up with good friend Connor Trinneer to start a podcast – the “Shuttlepod Show.”

KeatingKnown to fans as Enterprise’s Chief Tactical Officer Lieutenant Malcolm Reed, said his new show is about getting together with his friend to talk about their show and how Star Trek is changing people’s lives around the world has changed.

“How can I not be a ‘Star Trek’ fan just for the life the show has given me,” Keating said. “God bless. It changed our lives. I never hide it.”

“I saw the show as a kid, but it hooked me as an adventure show,” Keating said. “And I’ve said it many times — I teased my dad to get one of the first color TVs down our street so I could watch this show in color.”

Since the show launched in February 2022, Keating and trinner have hosted several “Star Trek” alumni, including John Billingsley (Dr Phlox), Garry Graham (Soval), Vaughn Armstrong (Admiral Maxwell Forrest) and Jeffrey Combs (Schran). They have plans to release a new episode starring Anthony Montgomery, who starred alongside Keating and Trinneer in Enterprise as Ensign Travis Mayweather.

Keating said he looks forward to inviting actors from the other Star Trek shows to appear on The Shuttlepod Show.

“I look forward to inviting other actors from ‘Deep Space Nine’ and ‘Voyager’ and ‘Next Gen’ maybe if we can get them,” Keating said. “I can’t wait to sit down with them to talk about their acting or directing their show and what it means to them. It will be exciting times.”

As noted in a previous conversation with Heavy, Keating has been “binging” episodes of “Enterprise” in preparation for the podcast. And since Enterprise ended in 2005, Keating said he didn’t take a moment to go back and watch it again — until now.

“I really get it now — I like our show,” Keating said after rewatching Enterprise. “I wasn’t sure if I would like it. I’m telling you, we were a hell of a show, mate.”

New Section 31 Show – or Movie?

One of the most exciting storylines Keating’s character was involved in was the Section 31 organization. According to Trek loreReed was involved with the spy organization before being stationed on the Enterprise.

Since the time of “Enterprise,” the mysterious part of Starfleet has been featured in a number of stories, including “Star Trek Into Darkness‘ and Season 2 of ‘Star Trek: Discovery’. Fans have been told there is a few times Section 31 Show in development which would star Michelle Yeoh. But there is also some conflicting information, such as Alex Kurtzman from Paramount and Julie McNamara Shared with Variety in 2021.

Accordingly Variety’s Adam VaryParamount won’t be adding to the “current roster of five series” until “at least one of the shows gets its run.” McNamara has since left Outstanding.

Keating said he was aware of the project and that his “name was mentioned.”

“I heard about the show — it’s real,” Keating said. “I know I don’t want to say too much. I know they adhere strictly to all of this… the modern non-disclosure agreement [non-disclosure agreement] Stuff. I think the show turned into a movie.”

“And it’s at Paramount, and that’s all I can tell you,” Keating said. “I’m not involved, unfortunately I have to say that.”
