Matthew Griffith, widely known as Oh Boy Prince of the group GS Boyz, who gave us the hit song “Stanky Leg,” was recently involved in an accident where an 18-wheeler brake pad hit him in the face on a Dallas-Fort freeway Worth Metroplex.
Oh Boy Prince speaks out for the first time since this tragic accident
In an exclusive interview with The shadow room teenagersOh Boy Prince said on Friday, Jan. 6, 2023, he was in the car with his girlfriend Unique Musick on Interstate 30 just 30 minutes after dropping his son off on his way to an interview when the incident happened.
He goes on to say that he was driving in the far left lane when an 18-wheel vehicle’s brake pad flew off, hit his car, the windshield, her dashboard, then hit his face before it flew into her son’s car seat in the back seat .
I just passed out. She kept telling me to slow down and step on the brakes.
Prince says his girlfriend had to take control of the wheel to avoid an accident. When he came to and realized what was going on, he immediately hit the brakes while she called the police and an ambulance.
I couldn’t find the words. I think I was deaf.
Unique says she went into shock during the accident. She couldn’t believe what was happening.
All I could think about was my son being without his parents, so my main focus was to get us to safety and get Prince’s help as soon as possible.
Prince says the ambulance took him to Methodist Dallas Medical Center, where he spent five days in the hospital. The day after he was admitted to the hospital, they performed three surgeries on his face and mouth.
The impact broke the bones in my face and right eye socket, so they had to put plates in my face and screws and wires in my jaw.
He also mentions that during his reconstruction surgery they wanted to make sure he didn’t have any blindness or damage.
Social media reacts to news of Oh Boy Prince & Unique Musick’s accident
After the incident, Unique posted on Facebook to let her friends, family and fans know that she and Prince were involved in an accident.
You pray for Prince. We had a crazy accident. I am still shocked. He’s having surgery tomorrow morning. My heart is shattered.
Over hundreds of comments poured in with prayers and concerns for the couple.
After everyone was notified via social media, influencer group C4S, which includes Unique and was founded by Prince, began posting prayers on their social channels.
Unique continued to update people on Prince’s progress on their Facebook page, even including a link to GoFundMe, which raised nearly $1,500.
About four days after the accident, Unique published a post addressing rumors that the situation was fake and to have clout.
It breaks my heart to see how many thought this tragic situation was wrong. Everything is not for clout. This is the real life…
About a week later, a post was uploaded to Prince’s Instagram stating that C4S would take over his side while he recovered.
Oh Boy Prince calls for more safety precautions for 18-wheelers
During his interview, Prince had a lot to say about how the investigation was going. He was concerned about safety precautions on the Autobahn and for 18-wheelers.
He even said his attorneys informed him they were having trouble figuring out which 18-wheeler caused the accident because a wall was blocking the camera view of the accident.
i want justice No one was charged or held accountable in this incident.
He went on to say that he would like to see more security on the freeway and possibly more cameras so this doesn’t happen to anyone.
Unique expressed the same concerns.
I feel like 18 wheelers need to make sure they have the vehicle checked before hitting the road. We could have died.
This story is still evolving, roommate. Please check again for updates. We ask that you continue to keep this couple in your thoughts and prayers.
