Malachi Fagan-Walcott has praised Noni Madueke as “Starboy”. Instagram after the ex-Tottenham player shone in the 4-1 win over Andorra in EURO qualifiers for England Under-21s.
The 20-year-old, who now plays at PSV after leaving Tottenham’s academy as a teenager, has been a red-hot wire on the flanks for his country.
When Madueke reported on his performance on IG on Friday evening, he was praised by some of his colleagues.
Liverpool youngster Harvey Elliott called the winger “airy”, while Celtic striker Karaoke Dembele said he was “a pleasure to watch”.
It was a blunt call for Madueke to leave the comfort of being at Tottenham’s academy and go to Holland at such a young age.
But it has turned out to be a treat for the England airman as he recently signed a new contract with the club and also plays in Europe.
Not only that, but Madueke is also thriving in English colors in the younger age groups.
The attacking talent that Gareth Southgate has to choose from is pretty incredible.
With England captain Harry Kane leading the line, there will be some disappointed faces at the 2022 World Cup in November.
As always, the players who didn’t get picked are talked about more than the ones that got picked.
That was no different with the last Three Lions squad selection, and the debate will be even more heated when the World Cup takes place later this year.
