Some fans of “Dance with the Stars” urge the show to make changes before the season 31 premiere.

Dancing With the Stars Season 31 premieres Monday, September 19, 2022 on Disney+. The show airs exclusively on Disney+ at 8:00 p.m. Eastern / 5:00 a.m. Pacific in the US and Canada. The show ends on Monday 22nd November 2022.

Fans want fewer theme nights

Following the announcement of certain themed nights coming up in the show’s 31st season, some fans took to Reddit to express their dissatisfaction with the show’s yearning for themed nights.

“Pissed off if we don’t get Shakira night instead of James Bond/Michael Buble idk any of his boring music,” one person wrote on Reddit. “I need some flavor and spice this season or Latin Night.”

In the answers, many fans agreed.

“I’m kind of surprised when they’re trying to appeal to a younger audience that James Bond is a subject they would dig into.” read an answer. “Michael Bublé, I’m not sure young people are into it today, but I know there’s more to his theme night than trying to appeal to a demographic. I would love to see Latin Night come back (I would still love to see Selena Night as she has many songs that she has written in her short life that would go well with the different dance styles).”

one person commented, “I’m so into theme nights lol.”

Others said they “hate” themed nights, and one said they thought the show was “over budget for the season.”

When it comes to Bond night, some people told Reddit that they weren’t thrilled.

“So one lucky person will get the iconic James Bond theme that everyone knows and probably make it a tango if I had to guess, while everyone else gets a random song from one of the past movies. Or the pros and crew members get the iconic James Bond theme to keep things fair.” one answer is.

‘Dancing With the Stars’ Showrunner Teases Disney Night’s Theme Night Changeover

Disney Night will see some changes ahead of the new season of Dancing With the Stars. Conrad Green, the new showrunner for the upcoming season of the show, opened up Weekly entertainment about this season’s theme nights and the changes to existing nights.

“They’re actually going to be hosting a Disney+ night, not Disney, which is great because it means you get to see this incredible catalog,” he said. “Everything from Marvel to Disney Pixar, all the animated films, all of their live-action films. There’s such a range. We’re really looking forward to extending Disney night into Disney+ night and enjoying a fantastic, eclectic night.”

He also teased Michael Buble Night and Elvis Night with “full access to the entire Elvis catalogue.”

The show is also bringing back the skybox, which is a fan-favorite feature, and new host Alfonso Ribeiro will be conducting interviews there.

“Nobody’s going to be better at that than Alfonso,” Green shared. “Not only is he a former champion of the show, but he loves the show and is passionate about it. He knows the dancers very well. He really knows what he’s talking about. He sympathizes with celebrities in what they’re going through and he’s also a really good old friend of Tyra’s.”
