Fans call ‘The Voice’ ‘rigged’ after semi-final results.

The Voice fans upset

“The Voice” semi-finalists.

Some fans of NBC’s The Voice took to social media to share their strong feelings about the Season 22 finalists.

During the semifinals, all three remaining artists on Blake Shelton’s team were marked safe without having to perform in the wildcard instant save. All three of John Legend’s teammates and the only remaining teammate of Gwen Stefani all had to compete in the instant save at the end of the night.

Ultimately, Omar Jose Cardona received enough votes to prevail over the other candidates.

Some fans are convinced the show was rigged for Blake Shelton

Some The Voice fans are upset that Shelton’s artists have beaten other artists who they thought deserved more.

“Of course Blake’s whole team comes through,” one person tweeted. “Because it’s his last season. It’s rigged! Kim, Parijita, Justin and Omar all have more talent than Blake’s entire team #TheVoice.”

It’s important to note that Shelton is actually staying with The Voice for one more season, although he will be retiring from the show after Season 23 airs in spring 2023.

“@johnlegend #TheVoice how on earth can all your 3 singers still be on this stage???” another person tweeted. “Just so you know, my family believes the show is rigged to help Blake win.”

Viewers have long accused “The Voice” of being “rigged.” FCC has banned competitive show manipulation, specifically “prohibited practices in competitions of knowledge, skill or chance,” making competitive show manipulation illegal.

Some people said they were done watching the show.

“I’m done. #The Voice,” One person just wrote.

Heavy has reached out to The Voice for comment about fans claiming the show was “rigged” in Blake Shelton’s favor, but had not heard of it at the time of writing.

A coach has no team members before the finals

A total of five finalists line up for the season 22 finale of The Voice.

Camilla team:

Team Blakes:

  • Braden Lape
  • Body
  • Bryce Leatherwood

Team Legend:

Team Gwen has no artists going into the show’s season finale. This isn’t the first time a coach has been without a team at the final show of the season.

When Ariana Grande coached The Voice, she didn’t have an artist who made it to the finale. This also happened to Adam Levine in the season before he left The Voice, leading to some speculation that the rule change was why Levine ultimately left the show.

Gwen Stefani and John Legend are both picking up at least one season of The Voice after season 22, and Blake Shelton is done with the show forever after season 23.

Stefani recently open for ET Online about why Shelton’s departure was hard for her.

“It was just a really great season, much too short,” said Stefani. “It’s mine and Blake’s last season … I can’t even get the words out of my mouth because it sucks.”

She added: “I could never have imagined doing something like this in my life and it was one of the funnest things I’ve ever done. I love being a trainer, I love seeing participants grow, I love making a difference, it’s super inspiring to me. And then I’ll meet my best friend here, he’ll be mine forever.”

“The Voice” airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. Fans call ‘The Voice’ ‘rigged’ after semi-final results.
