Beyoncé rides a glass horse on an album cover
Beyoncé took to Instagram on Thursday (June 30) to show fans the album cover, which shows the singer riding a horse in a slinky silver lingerie set.
The bronzed goddess sits proudly on the translucent holographic glass-like horse while her long hair cascades down her naked body.
“Creating this album has given me a place to dream and escape at a scary time in the world. It allowed me to feel free and adventurous at a time when little else was moving,” she wrote.
That division The singer added that her intention is to create a “safe place” free from “judgment, perfectionism and overthinking”.
“A place to scream, let go, feel freedom. It was a nice voyage of discovery. I hope you find joy in this music. I hope it inspires you to release the wobble. Ha! And to feel as unique, strong and sexy as you are,” she said.
It pays homage to a famous Renaissance painting
At the time of writing, Beyoncé hasn’t revealed her inspiration behind the cover, but fans are convinced it pays homage to a famous Renaissance painting called Lady Godiva.
The art was painted by English artist John Collier in 1897 and depicts the late Anglo-Saxon noblewoman Lady Godiva nude riding a horse.
It depicts their well-known protest drive through Coventry, England and is currently on display at Coventry’s Herbert Art Gallery and Museum in England.
Beyoncé has ridden in many photos and videos in the past, and fans also think it’s a subtle connection to her Texas heritage as well.
Fans are obsessed with the artwork
