Fans warn Jennifer Hudson

“The Voice” coach and “American Idol” star Jennifer Hudson has since kept much of her personal life private Separation from ex-fiancé and former professional wrestler David Otunga in 2018. Still Rumors began to swirl a possible relationship between Hudson and the rapper and another Chicagoan Together after the two shot a movie together in the summer of 2022.

Now fans are flocking to Hudson’s social media to warn them not to date the rapper, citing behaviors in his past relationships that have given them food for thought.

Hudson shared a message on their social media on March 13 in honor of Common’s 51st birthday, writing, “Team Jhud please help me wish one of the brightest lights a Chicago and hip hop legend the only one.” [Common] Happy birthday today!” next to it is a photo of the two musicians together. Common shared the post with him Instagram storywrite “Thank you!”

Fans were very quick to voice their concerns over the rumors of a relationship between the two, with one comment on Hudson’s post simply reading, “RUN……”

“Your new boo? I hope not, she can do better. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a great person, but he’s not committed and he’s injured on multiple occasions. But happy birthday 🎂,” commented another fan.

“This man has bonding issues please don’t be another piece in his puzzle 😩,” wrote a third fan.

“Happy birthday to him…. But girl run 🏃‍♀️,” read a fourth comment.

Common previously dated Tiffany Haddish for just over a year, with the two things ending in August 2019. A few months after their split Haddish commented on their relationship, and said, “He might be the kind of person who never really settles for anyone. Maybe he’s like a bee going from flower to flower to flower. I don’t know. I wish him nothing but joy and happiness, you know. He will always be cool.”

Accordingly PopSugar, before dating Haddish and (possibly) Hudson, Common was romantically linked to many other celebrities, including Erykah Badu, Taraji P. Henson, Serena Williams and Angela Rye. Common also has a 26-year-old daughter, Omoye, with ex-girlfriend Kim Jones.

Common has worked with Voice coach John Legend

Hudson isn’t the only EGOT-winning “Voice” coach to work with Common, as he’s a frequent collaborator with singer John Legend. The two musicians have been working together for over a decade, with Legend appearing in one of their earliest collaborations as a featured artist on Common’s 2005 song “They Say” (along with Kanye West).

The song the two were best known for collaborating on was 2015’s “Glory,” which was written for and featured on the soundtrack of the film “Selma,” which explored the civil rights movement of the 1960s Marches from Selma to Montgomery. The song earned Legend and Common Oscars for Best Original Song and a Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media.

After her victory, Legend went to social media to celebrate and wrote: “So thankful for my brother [Common] for the invitation to write a song for Selma with him. We made history together and I couldn’t have done it with a better man.”
