Far cry 6 is about to have a free weekend and the only unfortunate aspect is its crossplay and cross-platform multiplayer status for co-op action.
If you haven’t played the latest installment of the legendary game yet FC series, this is your best bet. Not only is the trial completely free for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, but its launch coincides with the stranger things DLC crossover.
While you can play through the campaign and missions with a buddy, the unfortunate news is that you can’t play with friends on other systems.
Is Far Cry 6 co-op crossplay?
Far cry 6 is not crossplay as there is no cross-platform multiplayer between PlayStation, Xbox and PC.
While you can’t play with friends on different systems, at least there’s cross-gen action. This basically means that PS4 users can play with PS5 and the same for Xbox One with Series X/S.
Another good news is that all platforms support cross-progression. So, although a PlayStation user cannot play on Xbox or PC, they can transfer their progress by manually uploading their save to the cloud.
Check out Ubisoft Cross progression guide to transfer and download your saved game on all systems.
How many co-op players
Co-op multiplayer in Far cry 6 is only between two players.
You must complete the mission you or die before you can team up with a friend or stranger. Once you complete this mission, you will have three online gameplay options to choose from:
- play with a friend
- looking for partners
- be partners
Be a Partner allows you to receive invites from strangers, while finding a partner matches you with a player who has opted to receive invites.
Know that you can complete both story missions and side quests with your friend.
