Fat Joe and Uncle Luke recently feuded over who ended up having more influence over the careers of two Miami legends.
Who can get credit for Trick Daddy & Pitbull?
Matters between the rappers unfolded after Uncle Luke took to Instagram to share a message for “What’s Luv?”. Rapper. It turns out Luke got wind of some of the comments Fat Joe made while performing on Matt Hoffa over the weekend My expert opinion podcast.
During the session, which aired back in May, Joe gifted himself his flowers and pointed out some of the artists he’s “dressed.” He first talked about French Montana.
“French Montana, I put it on! I took his shit and made them play it. They would never play his shit. Six months later he was rich.”
He then made similar claims about Pitbull and Trick Daddy.
“Pitbull, I took his demo and signed it. Trick Daddy, I took his shit and signed him.
Fat Joe’s comments about Pitbull and Trick Daddy left Luke rattled as he blasted him in an Instagram caption, claiming he was the one who “discovered” them.
“I love Joe but I find this very interesting because I discovered that @trickdaddydollars did his first song with me as soon as he got out of jail and then he stayed with me. I also discovered that @pitbull has signed to the platinum-selling label Luke Records for making his first songs with me.”
Fat Joe: “I said what I said!”
In response, Fat Joe hopped on social media and made some comments of his own. He began by praising Uncle Luke as “a living legend” who “directed all of Miami.”
However, he stood by what he said and clarified that he helped sign both Trick Daddy and Pitbull.
“I said what I said … I did it for love. For culture. That’s it. I’m not trying to take credit from Luke or the history of Miami or whatever the case may be. The truth is the truth!”
The couple later hopped on Instagram Live and clarified the situation.
After sharing their sides, they agreed that “two people are right” in this situation, as they’ve both played important roles in supporting Pitbull and Trick Daddy’s careers.
Joe went on to say that he had “nothing but love and respect” for Luke as he “attracted all of Miami and discovered everyone.” However, Fat Joe reiterated that he only “spoke a little bit about it [his] Truth.”
Luke also praised Joe, so it looks like everything is fine between the two.
