Final Fantasy XIV Splendorous Tools Guide – All Steps, Quests & Materials (Patch 6.35)

Added a new relic grind for Crafters and Gathers in Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.35. After Mastercraft Tools, Skysteel Tools and Resplendent Tools, Splendorous Tools is a multi-level grind for high item level tools. Here’s your complete guide to crafting and creating your own Splendorous Tools.

What are Splendorous Tools in FFXIV?

Splenderous Tools are a set of relic tools added in patch 6.35. These tools are not always the best in the slot (BiS) for every crafter and gatherer, but they have a fairly high item level and good stats. In addition, they are a great way to fill the time between patches and a prestige item that you can show off at the highest level thanks to their shiny appearance.

All Splendorous Tools Quest Steps (Patch 6.35)

Below we have detailed all the steps of the Splendorous Tool quest. We’ve also included details on how to unlock the Splendorous Tools quests in a separate guide.

Gorgeous tools

The basis and starting point for these relic tool loops are Splendorous Tools iLvl 570 tools, which can be obtained for free once you start the Splendorous Tools quest line. After completing the quest “An Original Improvement” you will receive a Resplendent Chest. Using this element turns it into a tool corresponding to the user’s current class.

Resplendent tools for the remaining crafting and gathering classes can be purchased from Quinnana in the Crystarium (X: 10.4 Y: 7.8) for 1,500 White Artisan Scrips. There are no extra steps here, and your next actual relic step is to expand on this base tool.

Augmented Splendorous Tools

Augmented Splendorous Tools are the next step in relic grinding. These iLvl 590 tools are the start of the real grind and the first real upgrade in the process. For crafters, this means crafting the one-star collectibles listed by Quinnana in the Crystarium (X:10.4, Y:7.8). You must earn 90 Splendorous Components.

For collectors, this means collecting one-star collectibles at collection points around the world. In the Gatherers grind you will need the following:

• 50 Magnificent Components (Miner/Botanist)
• Either 180 Resplendent Water Shards (Botanist) or 180 Resplendent Earth Shards (Miner)

Fishermen will need the following:

• 60 magnificent bar components
• 60 magnificent reel components

Once you’ve achieved the required items, without your Splendorous Tool, give them to Chora-Zoi to receive an Augmented Splendorous Tool.

Crystalline tools

Crystalline Tools are the final step of the Splendorous Tools quests in patch 6.35. These are item level 620 glowing relic items. They have a unique design and are the first of the Glowing Splendorous Tools.

To unlock them, crafters must craft the two collectibles listed by Quinnana in the Crystarium (X:10.4, Y:7.8). You must earn 90 adaptive components.

For collectors, this means collecting one-star collectibles at collection points around the world. In the Gatherers grind you will need the following:

• 210 Adaptive Components (Miner/Botanist)
• Either 210 Adaptive Lighting Shards (Botanist) or 180 Adaptive Fire Shards (Miner)

Fishermen will need the following:

• 80 adaptive fishing rod components
• 80 adaptive fishing reel components

Once you’ve achieved the required items, hand them over to Chora-Zoi without your Augmented Splendorous Tool to obtain a Crystalline Tool.

Future Splendorous Tools Quest Steps (Patch 6.45 and later)

Splendorous Tools will get extended steps in Patch 6.45 and Patch 6.55. It’s likely that there will be between four and nine additional steps, depending on how many steps are added in each level. This includes new materials and new craftable items. This article will be updated as the steps continue!
