Fire damages Dollar General’s distribution center in Berks County

BETHEL, Pa. (WHTM) — A Dollar General distribution center suffered at least $250,000 in damage after a fire late Friday night.
Multiple 911 calls were made about a fire at the 930,000-square-foot building in Bethel Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Firefighters located a fire in the middle of the warehouse involving a machine and a storage rack with consumer goods stored on pallets.
Sprinklers were activated in the building and the fire was contained.
About 20 employees were inside and one was receiving medical attention for smoke inhalation. No firefighter was injured in the operations.
State police say the cause is being investigated by the state police fire department.
