First trailer of Assassin’s Creed Mirage – The Hollywood Reporter

A new trailer for Assassin’s Creed Mirage debuted at Gamescom in Cologne on Wednesday, taking players on a tour of medieval Baghdad.
Developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux, the new chapter in the assassin Saga was shown during the influential German video game fair and will be released on October 5th, 2023 on PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
The trailer, titled The Round City of Baghdad, offers a cinematic look at the 9th-century Arab city during its Golden Age. The clip also includes details about the story of the protagonist Basim and Assassin’s Creed. “My sword spares the innocent,” Basim says offscreen, “but not the Order of the Ancients.” There are also several clips in the film that frame some aspects of the game’s gameplay, namely the possibilities of stealth and acrobatic actions over the Middle East city buildings.
“To reconstruct the city, we collected writings from scholars of the time,” said Jean-Luc Sala, Art Director of Ubisoft Bordeaux The Hollywood Reporter Roma. “Historians both inside and outside of Ubisoft have helped us,” Sala continued. “We wanted to convey the authentic spirit of Baghdad with a park-oriented playstyle.”
About the evolution of the character of Basim, the protagonist of this chapter, already known to fans from the previous video game Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Series, Sala said that in Mirage “He’s an apprentice who’s still learning the creed and the ways of the assassin.” He added, “He’s a bit naïve and certainly a big braggart, but he’s also unsure of his identity and willing to embrace the creed.” connect to give meaning to his life.”
As for the Discovery Tour mode, a popular educational section in recent releases of the series that allows you to explore the historical reconstruction carried out by the studio, Sala said that it will not be present in this chapter and instead through so-called Scattered collectibles are replaced around the playing card in the form of pages of a code. “You have to explore the world to collect all pages of the Codex,” Sala explained.
