Five people have died in a homicide-suicide in Florida. The incident was discovered Friday morning in the 14800 block of the NW 87th Court, according to the Miami-Dade Police Department in Florida. Three women and two men were found dead. Officials believe one of the men committed the murder.

“According to investigators, uniformed officers from the Town of Miami Lakes District were dispatched to an apartment in the 14800 block of the NW 87th Court at approximately 9:52 a.m. regarding a welfare check,” officials said. “Upon arrival, they met a relative who tried to contact her family members but received no response.”

Police said they entered the home through a rear window and found five people with obvious gunshot wounds. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue pronounced these people dead.

Officers said they found one of the men in a bedroom with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Accordingly, the police assume a murder-suicide.

Police did not immediately release more information when Law&Crime came in Monday.

According to NBC Miami, the family identified two of the victims as Yohanka Aguilar, 54, and her son Dhany Aguilar, 34.

“I can’t believe it,” Rolando Aguilat, Yohanka’s ex-husband and Dhany’s father, told the outlet in Spanish.

Two other victims were two adult siblings and a 58-year-old woman who had just moved to south Florida from Cuba, according to WSVN.

“Things like this never happen,” a local told the outlet. “That’s crazy, unusual.”
