Colin Cowherd is urging the Buccaneers to buy Jimmy Garoppolo.

According to one analyst, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could be exchanged for a successor to Tom Brady.

According to Fox Sports’ Colin Cowherd, the Buccaneers should trade with San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to prepare for life after Brady. Garoppolo was actually a substitute for Brady with the New England Patriots from 2014 to 2017 when he was transferred to the 49ers.

“You can take him to Tampa after Brady,” Cowherd said. “Just say, ‘Hey, Kyle Trask isn’t ready next year, we’ll bring Jimmy in to support him.’ I don’t know if the financing works, I haven’t looked into that. But for me it will work just for Jimmy. I don’t know if Tom likes it, but Jimmy will be fine with it. “

Buccaneers can prepare for life after Brady

While Brady has not claimed that the 2022 season is his last, many believe it is the 23-year-old veteran’s last trip. The 45-year-old quarterback has not yet committed to play next season and gave a signal that he may be entering his final season.

Garoppolo has undergone off-season surgery and may not be quite ready for training camp. That has certainly hurt the 30-year-old’s commercial value, as he still has no potential suitors going into camp.

Despite his heavy injury history – Garoppolo has missed 25 games in the past four years with the Niners – Cowherd believes a move is worthy for the Buccaneers.

Cowherd said: “Jimmy Garoppolo is the best midfielder in the world. “He won, he played well, he wasn’t too expensive, he was ready to be a backup vehicle, he would never upset you on the podium, everyone in the room liked him. , he is very qualified.”

Cowherd went on to endorse Garoppolo, referring to his winning success as a quarterback. The veteran quarterback led the Niners to a Super Bowl and an NFC championship game in his only two full seasons as a starter.

“…He went into Lambeau and defeated [Aaron Rodgers],” Cowherd continued. “He played in cold weather and hot weather. He played Mahomes in a Super Bowl. And he’s good in the dressing room.”

Why Bucs can’t trade for Jimmy GO

Considering there aren’t any slots for teams looking for a starting midfielder, Garoppolo will likely have to switch to a backup role if he is traded before the season starts. The Buccaneers would be the perfect opportunity for Garoppolo to start when Brady retires.

However, there was one big problem – the limited number of Garoppolo. The veteran quarterback has an annual cash figure of nearly $26 million this season.

With Tampa Bay holding about $12.5 million in salary cap, a move isn’t really viable. However, if the 49ers really want to get rid of Garoppolo, they can find a deal where they will get a large portion of his contract trading him.

While this seems like a great idea on paper, the move is simply not very likely. The Buccaneers haven’t shown any genuine interest in Brady’s former back-up acquisition, and salary-capped logistics suggest a move is unlikely.

With the Buccaneers bringing in four midfielders – the same four defenders they brought in last season – Tampa Bay is unlikely to play for Jimmy G.
