Former Dancing With the Stars host Tom Bergeron is mourning the loss of a dear friend of his, attorney Mike Adler, who died on November 10 at the age of 73. per The Hollywood Reporter.

Tom Bergeron posted a tribute to his friend Mike Adler on Instagram

in the an Instagram post With a photo of the late attorney, Bergeron said he will miss his good friend, whom he described as “the epitome of class.”

Bergron wrote:

When people asked me where my attorney was, I would tell them, “Imagine a pit bull with a teddy bear heart.” Mike was (oddly enough to use the past tense) the quintessential class. I will miss going to Lakers games with you my friend and hearing the latest updates about the family you loved so much.

On his Facebook post about Adler’s death, one of Bergeron’s friends noticed that she met Adler on “Dancing With the Stars” in 2017 and wrote: “So sorry Tom. I sat next to him at the show in early 2017 and he was lovely. I send you healing hugs.”

In the comments on Instagram, Bergeron’s followers were full of condolences.

“We’re at the age where losing friends is becoming more common. Crap”, wrote a fan.

Other added“My condolences to you and his family.”

“My condolences. Sending my condolences and prayers to you and his loved ones. May he rest in everlasting peace,” wrote a third fan.

A fourth fan added“I’m so sorry for your loss, Tom” and a fifth fan wrote“Sending love to you, his family and all those whose lives he has touched.”

Adler died at home after a short illness

A spokesman for Adler’s former company, Lichter Grossman Nichols Adler Feldman & Clark, told The Hollywood Reporter that Adler died at home after a short illness.

Adler joined the company in 1997 and was “an absolutely integral part” of it until his retirement in 2019, the company told The Hollywood Reporter.

The company said in a statement:

Throughout his career, he has been a fearless and tenacious advocate for his clients, which have included some of the film and television industry’s most celebrated actors, writers, directors and producers. His customers meant the world to him.

He has been a brilliant attorney over the years and a true mentor to so many attorneys in our firm and in the larger entertainment legal community. He had terrible handwriting and told terrible jokes. Above all, Mike was a human being – a truly kind and generous partner and friend.

After deadline, Adler was regarded by his clients as “a straightforward shooter who was extremely loyal”. The outlet also reported that Adler was instrumental in the financing and distribution of “Magic Mike,” as director Steven Soderberg was one of his clients.

His other clients have included entertainment industry actors Viola Davis, Connie Nielsen, Kristin Scott Thomas, Eric Balfour and Tom Felton.

The obituary in The Hollywood Reporter states that Adler graduated from UCLA law school and later worked for a judge on the California Supreme Court. He leaves behind his wife, Dr. Brenda Fabe, two children and four grandchildren.
