Mostly a second silent day of legal forgery
The Cardinals have been relatively quiet on the second day of legal intervention before the new confederation year begins on March 16.
However, Arizona restructured DeAndre Hopkins’ contract to free up some cap space as his bonus was reworked into a signing bonus. The move will save $7.1 million in the 2022 cap space as the Cardinals will look to improve on a team that has lost the ability to rerun Chase Edmonds and wide receiver Christian Kirk.
Arizona has re-signed tight Zach Ertz, bringing in James Conner and backup defender Colt McCoy to multi-year contracts.
However, Cardinals free agent defender Chandler Jones has yet to reach an agreement with a team. It was six years ago, on March 15, 2016, when the Cardinals exchanged Jones from the New England Patriots. Since then, the All-Pro edge attack device has made a huge impact on defence, and is the leader in the sack franchise.
The Cards will have to wait and see how Jones’ market materializes. All trades cannot become official until the new tournament year begins on March 16.
