The Las Vegas Raiders’ spacious studio is being set up, and the only guaranteed return from last season will be Hunter Renfrow. The team has made some big changes this season with the addition of Davante Adams and new head coach Josh McDaniels is not interested in many returning players. One player who will not be on the team roster is Marcell Ateman.
The seventh-round pick has previously appeared and hasn’t been on the Raiders roster for the past four seasons. For the first time in his career, Ateman is finally on the new roster. The Arizona Cardinals announced that they have signed a veteran wide receiver.
During his four seasons with the Raiders, Ateman played 19 games. His most prominent season came during the rookie year as he started in six games and made 15 catches for 154 yards. Since then, Ateman has struggled to find a suitable role. He will be a large body for the Cardinals to use at 6-foot-4. There are plenty of chances in Arizona with DeAndre Hoplins suspended for the first six games and Hollywood Brown potentially facing punishment after being charged with criminal speeding.

Willie Snead signs with 49ers
Unlike Ateman, Willie Snead spent only a short time with the Raiders. He was signed by the team last season but was asked to cut after just seven games with the team. He only had three catches in seven games against the Raiders.
He didn’t have much luck after being forced out of Las Vegas. He eventually landed with the Carolina Panthers, where he played in just two games. In those two games, he had one catch, and the Panthers finished with a 5-12 record. If he stays with the Raiders, he could create a bigger role and play for a playoff team. It was a bad bet on his part.
Luckily, Snead will get a different look. According to Pro Football Network’s Aaron Wilson, the San Francisco 49ers are signing the veteran wide receiver.
Snead started his career pretty strong with the New Orleans Saints as he combined 1,879 yards in his first two seasons. He’s only had 1,552 yards combined in the five seasons since.
Raiders should be happy with the WR . room
Raid players have had a hard time building a large studio over the years. It looks like they worked things out with Michael Crabtree and Amari Cooper in 2015 and 2016 but that only lasted a few seasons. The Raiders currently have the best wide receiver in the NFL in Adams and a Pro Bowl slot receiver in Renfrow.
How the depth behind those two will change remains to be seen but there are reasons to be positive. The team has caliber at Mack Hollins, speed at Tyron Johnson and veteran consistency at Keelan Cole. The Raiders’ wide-reception team is in a really good position and midfielder Derek Carr should be excited about the players he gets to work with this season.
