In an August 2022 interview on Kelly Dodd’s Real Housewives of Orange County podcast, “The Rick and Kelly Show” Vicki Gunvalson spoke about the Bravo series leaving after season 14. During the interview, the 60-year-old suggested she expected a bigger paycheck while starring in RHOC.

“I got expensive and I’m fine with that, I’m worth it, the ratings were the best they’ve ever had while we were there and you know you get what you pay for,” Gunvalson assured. “So you’re paying less than $50,000 for a new girl — I don’t even know what the new girls are coming in anymore.”

Dodd, who left the show after the fifteenth season, then shared her opinion of the show’s newer cast.

“That’s why the ratings aren’t there, I think it’s cheap talent,” the Bravo alum shared.

During an interview in April 2022 Jeff Lewis’ radio show Jeff Lewis Live Dodd shared her thoughts on the RHOC Season 16 cast. She shared that she believed the show’s stars weren’t really friends, aside from Emily Simpson and Gina Kirschenheiter.

“I just feel like there are no real friendships there. Everything is forced and you can see that. There’s no real friendships other than Emily and Gina, that’s it,” said the former reality TV star.

She then claimed that her fans on the network’s shows were “upset that Bravo brought in political stuff.”

“They want to see entertainment, they don’t want to see anything political. You know, once you start getting so political — I made a mistake to be honest because it ended up really hurting me, and when you get political you lose half your fan base, so that happens. A lot of people mean I don’t want to see that. I don’t want to tune in to Bravo anymore,” Dodd said.

“I think taking two years off is probably the best thing you could ever do to me, even if I didn’t like it, but yeah. Because I’ve been on the show for 12 years and I feel like if you’re on it that long you become a professional “housewife” and then when you’re gone you’re like oh, ow. I did that?” the RHOC star explained.

In a separate July 2022 WWHL interview, Judge spoke about her RHOC co-star Shannon Beador. She explained that she was not in close contact with the mother of three. The Vena CBD co-founder also noted that she has no issue with Beador’s friendship with RHOC star Heather Dubrow.

“Haven’t seen Shannon in a couple of years, we’ve had a few text messages, yesterday was the last. And as far as she’s friends with Heather Dubrow, I have no problem with that,” Judge said.

RHOC Season 17 is currently in production.
