Former World Bank chief didn’t respond to sexual harassment warnings

Former head of the World Bank Kristalina Georgieva knew of a senior official’s sexual misconduct but took no action, despite publicly stating, according to current and former bank employees, that she was a strong defender of female victims of sexual harassment.

Ms Georgieva, now head of the International Monetary Fund, agreed to extend the tenure of the then head of the bank in Indonesia in 2018, even after staff outcry over his behavior. The bank clerk’s misconduct, Rodrigo Chavescontinued in Indonesia, according to people familiar with the matter.
