Honestly, we’re just changing the name of the game to Furspoken.
Cats in games are all the rage these days. Their mere existence has won the hearts of gamers around the world, from Game of the Year nominee Stray to mischievous Catlateral Damage, to cozy Cat Cafe Manager and more.
Square Enix’s new RPG Forspoken is the latest game to join this trend. The developers put them everywhere, and not only can you follow them to find rare treasures, but most importantly, they can be petted.
The best thing about the cats in Forspoken is that there is a type called Familiars that has mystical attributes like wings or horns. If you find them in the world of Forspoken, you can befriend them.
Players are already falling in love with these purrfect cats.
Just look how beautiful they can be! Who wouldn’t want an adorable, fluffy, pink and yellow fur baby waiting for them at every pilgrim’s shelter?
Crazy cat ladies everywhere are finding their lives completely filled with the aspect of befriending these magical little fellows. Let’s face it – cats were cool, but when Forspoken gave them wings and horns it was all over.
While the ultimate number of valuable pet cats is unknown at this time, we have a good source that it’s somewhere in the MANY range.
If magical winged cats aren’t your thing, well, Forspoken has the normal kind too. Meet Homer.
I would die for Homer. I would die for any of the cats in Forspoken. I haven’t even played this game yet, but I can already tell you that it’s a Meowsterpiece.
Let’s just change the name of the game to Furspoken, triple the number of familiars and award it game of the year straight away.
furForspoken will be available on PS5 and PC on January 24th. There’s a demo available for PS5 if you’re undecided or just want to pet some cats and call it a day.
