Given the breadth of the internet’s zeitgeist, popular trends are bound to overlap at some point. At the moment, a search seems to be doing the rounds that combines all your favorite battle royale games with some people’s favorite tag since the internet can’t get enough of fortnite foot pics.

Why this is currently gaining popularity is still under investigation, but it turns out that foot memes have been ingrained in Fortnite culture for a while. There’s literally years of content connecting the two, with Sandshovel fans sharing everything from fan art to an attempt at rap of sorts. TikTok appears to be a popular hotspot for the latest Fortnite foot content, with a search for the term “Fortnite foot memes” garnering 4.2 billion views. For comparison, Super Bowl LVII was watched by an estimated 113 million US households, suggesting 37 times as many people would like to see Fortnite foot pics rather than Patrick Mahomes winning his second Lombardi Trophy.

Feet in general are a hot topic of discussion in gaming; At one point, there was a Twitter account that specifically addressed whether you could see the feet of your favorite digital stars, who had thousands of followers. That account has since been banned, suggesting it was their turn once too many times.
