Fortnite update 23.40 reveals a bunch of fan favorite weapons

The Dual Pistols (called Double Pistols in the tweet) will arrive for a two-shot burst with extra rate of fire, while still dealing a solid 35 damage per hit even on the Common rarity. As if that wasn’t enough, players can also find the exotic variant of Hop Rock Dualies across the island.

While the island still lacks a sidearm equivalent, the hand cannon is making a return to fill at least a small portion of that gap. While the dual pistols can be deadly, this weapon packs an insane punch of 75 damage per hit when it’s rare and 78 when it’s legendary. This unvaulting has been a long time coming as the hand cannon was last seen in Chapter 2 Season 8.

While the Machine SMG and Twin Mag SMG have cleaned up this season, you can never have enough high-rate, light ammo cannons. The Compact SMG takes the fight back to give players another option to add to their arsenal and is a great choice as it features a 40-round magazine.

Last but not least is an important release for the new season as it is clearly devoid of long-range weapons. The Heavy Sniper Rifle will likely turn areas like Shattered Slabs into sniper nests, so now there’s reason to be wary of wide open spaces.

Along with the above, another dataminer has revealed that the Flare Gun has been added to the game’s files again and will likely no longer be saved in a future update.
