Gabby Windey breaks silence on split from fiancé


Gabby Windey broke her silence on breaking up with her fiancé in the semifinals of Dancing With the Stars.

“Dancing With the Stars” frontrunner and former “Bachelorette” Gabby Windey broke her silence on her split from fiancé Erich Schwer during the show’s semifinal episode.

Before the show aired, Windey promised fans answers to many of their questions, and she delivered during her pre-taped packages during the show.

Windey and her fiancé, Erich Schwer, got engaged after the “Bachelorette” finale. but people announced their split on November 4, 2022 after weeks of fan speculation.

Before the announcement Windey told Fox News “Life is just very busy,” and the couple “move forward with each of our individual interests and support each other from a distance.”

What Windey Said About Their Relationship

During her taped package for Dancing With the Stars, Windey opened up about their breakup to her partner Val Chmerkovskiy.

Windey and Chmerkovskiy performed the waltz for the first half of the night, and when Chmerkovskiy told her they wanted to channel love into their dance, she opened up about the breakup.

“It has a special place for me because I just went through a breakup,” Windey said. “The end of our relationship happened because we weren’t quite in alignment or in sync with each other in terms of our common goals or just the way we approach life.”

She was grateful to her father and stepmother for showing her what a healthy relationship looked like.

“Never blame, or you did this or that… it doesn’t matter,” she told Chmerkovskiy.

Their dance was appropriately emotional, and Windey collapsed on the floor. They left the judges almost speechless.

“The choreography, the execution of the dance, the beautiful swing, just flawless,” Derek Hough told the pair after they danced.

Bruno Tonioli called the waltz “gorgeous” and shared that he thought Windey “pulled beautifully through”.

Carrie Ann Inaba was grateful that Windey told her story from a “human” and “vulnerable” place.

Windey was supported by her friends in the audience, including her co-“Bachelor” Rachel Recchia.

“There are so many factors involved in staying present in training and being able to give it your all,” Windey said after she danced.

She added, “Val makes it so easy, he’s such a great friend, such a great partner.”

Some fans want Windey to host Dancing With the Stars

Some fans of “Dancing With the Stars” are hoping for a change in hosts heading into the show’s 32nd season. Tyra Banks will be joined by Alfonso Ribeiro in Season 31 after the series moved from ABC to Disney+.

During some of the Season 31 live shows, fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on who should be hosting the next season.

“Can we keep Alfonso? [Ribeiro] and then Gabby [Windey] be the moderator on the floor for the next season of #DWTS?” wrote one person on Twitter. “She would be great and not try to steal the focus.”

Another person tweeted, “You see the CHAOS that Gabby lmaooo brings. She needs to be the host of next season #dwts.”

Some “Dancing With the Stars” fans are hoping Windey will be one of the celebrities taking part in the season 31 live tour, which is slated for tour dates beginning in January 2023.

“Gabby is hosting a tour with Emma [Slater] Challenge,” wrote one person on Twitter.
