Garcelle Beauvais spoke about a scary illness she had in her memoirs. “Love me as I am.”

In her book, the 55-year-old ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ actress revealed that she struggled to father a child with her second husband, Michael Nilon, to whom she was married from 2001 to 2011.

Fifteen years after giving birth to her first child, Oliver, during her first marriage to Daniel Saunders, Beauvais gave birth to her fraternal twins, Jax Joseph and Jaid Thomas, in October 2007. The future RHOBH star was forced to give birth to her twins in an emergency C-section at 34 weeks due to complications, after people.

But in her book, Beauvais revealed that she had a serious medical issue before becoming pregnant with her twins.

Beauvais revealed that she had been trying to conceive for more than five years. Beauvais suffered multiple miscarriages while trying to conceive in her 40s, she revealed in her book. She also underwent several unsuccessful rounds of in vitro fertilization

During this time, she found out she was suffering from fibroids and needed surgery. According to the Mayo Clinic The benign uterine growths can cause abdominal pain, heavy periods, and complications during pregnancy. After Beauvais was in severe pain, she went to the hospital and later learned she needed emergency surgery.

“As it turns out, I had developed a life-threatening intestinal obstruction from the fibroid surgery and my waste was backing up in my system and poisoning my body,” the Bravo star wrote. “If I hadn’t gone to the hospital then, I wouldn’t be alive today to tell my story. After this ordeal, I was shocked and scared.”

Beauvais before said BET She found out she had fibroids after going to a fertility specialist after multiple miscarriages. She decided to have fibroid surgery to increase her chances of conceiving, but after the surgery she suffered from severe pain in her body and went for an MRI.

“I went home but then I had to go straight back to the hospital because they called and said I had a blockage in the intestines that could have killed me and they needed surgery,” she revealed.

Beauvais admitted she was frustrated after undergoing multiple rounds of IVF and still having a miscarriage.

“I cried and prayed to God,” she told BET. “We decided to try again and I got pregnant with my twins.

Like many women, Beauvais suffered from preeclampsia during her pregnancy. In an interview with Pregnancy Magazine (about people), she revealed that by the end of her pregnancy, “my blood pressure was really high, my feet were swollen, and I had constant headaches.”

“So they took me to the hospital a couple of times and then they let me go for observation,” she said. “The last time I was there they kept me overnight and put me on Tylenol all night to see if the headache would go away and it didn’t.”

Beauvais revealed the babies were “doing well” although their twins were born prematurely.

Since I had left the week before with the same symptoms, they had given me two injections of a steroid to allow her lungs to develop faster in case we had to take her out,” she revealed. “So they were able to breathe on their own, and we stayed in the hospital for four days, and we were all at home together, which is what I was hoping for.”
