Gary Neville said above Twitter that Robert Sanchez should have been sent off for his challenge to Liverpool winger Luis Diaz.
The former Manchester United star believes the Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper should be shown red straight for crashing into Liverpool winger Diaz.
In the 21st minute of the ongoing Premier League match between Brighton and Liverpool, Diaz scored for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Joel Matip made a brilliant pass to the Colombia international winger, and the January transfer from FC Porto braved home.
Sanchez smashed into Diaz in a tackle, injuring the Liverpool star in the process.
There was a VAR check, and the Brighton goalkeeper was not shown a red card, according to Sky Sports expert Neville, it was the wrong decision.
Controversy between Robert Sanchez and Luis Diaz
In our opinion, it was a controversial decision and we think the referee should have sent off Sanchez for the foul on Diaz.
If it’s an outfield player, the referee will definitely show a red card.
Of course, we could now argue that Sanchez couldn’t stop his stalking, but that doesn’t always end with leniency.
