Gaza militants fire a rocket at Israel amid tensions in Jerusalem

GAZA CITY — Gaza militants fired a rocket at Israel late Wednesday, escalating tensions hours after Israeli police blocked Jewish nationalists from marching to potential hotspots in Jerusalem to demonstrate sovereignty over the embattled city, after days of clashes between security forces and Palestinians over access to holy sites.

Israeli police said at least part of the rocket landed near a house in the Israeli town of Sderot, near the Gaza border. No injuries were reported. This is the second rocket fired from Gaza at Israel this week, but no group has claimed responsibility for either.
