Gemma Owen has revealed that Luca Bish got the “thumbs up” from her father Michael, but admitted the couple is still not official as of Tuesday.

The Love Island runner-up, who left the villa two weeks ago, was finally able to enjoy a cozy dinner with Gemma’s family after they flew to Portugal on holiday.

Speaking on the Six O’Clock Show, the 19-year-old dressage rider recounted meetings with the former footballer, 42, by Lucas, 23, adding that they “got approval”.

Gemma detailed: “Family thumbs up, very good. We had a little trip, a little work, a little relaxation, met them all there. That was really positive and very nice.

“Now we have the approval, the ball is his. I’m just waiting for him.’

Confirming the couple isn’t “official” yet, she added, “I’m not picky at this point, no grand gesture, just something nice. Let’s just put a label on it.’

Elsewhere, Gemma took to Instagram to pose in a bandeau top and unbuttoned baggy jeans, which she cheekily captioned: “Boyfriend fit”.

Luca flew to Portugal with Gemma last week to meet the former footballer, who owns a chic holiday home in the country.

Gemma meanwhile typed: “I was there for 4 days and you wait until I go to take a family picture” (sic).
