Geno’s Kebab and Pizzaria have a zero food hygiene rating

With a score of zero to five, food processing companies receive food hygiene ratings after an inspection determines how well they comply with food safety laws.

The rating reflects the standards of food hygiene as determined by the local authority at the time of inspection.

Geno’s Kebab and Pizzeria on Duke Street, near downtown St. Helens, was rated zero out of five for food hygiene when it was inspected on January 5.

The assessment inspected on Jan. 12 found that food safety management needs urgent improvement.

The cleanliness and condition of the building were found to be in need of major improvement, and improvements were also necessary with regard to the hygienic handling of food in the company.

The Moss Bank Express, an Indian takeaway on Dalehead Place, Moss Bank also received a low score of one in its most recent sanitation rating.

The assessment inspected on Jan. 12 found that food safety management needs significant improvement.

The overall cleanliness and condition of the building was found to be satisfactory, but improvements were needed with regard to the hygienic handling of food in the establishment.
