Georgia Bulldog Accident: Devin Willock and Chandler Lacroix died in a car crash
Police are investigating a horrific single-vehicle car crash that occurred early Sunday in a Georgia Bulldog crash that claimed the lives of the football players.
Devin Willock and staffer Chandler LeCroy just hours after the University of Georgia Bulldogs’ triumphant celebration with supporters.
LeCroy, 24, was driving 20-year-old Willock and two other passengers just before 3am on Sunday when the car went off the road and crashed into two utility poles.
According to investigators, LeCroy died after being rushed to a hospital, while Willock died on the spot.
According to her LinkedIn profile, LeCroy worked for UGA as a football recruitment consultant. Two other passengers from the football team were injured in the collision.
McClendon started this season with the right tackle for Georgia, announcing his entry into the NFL draft on Saturday.
He had stitches on his forehead but is “doing fine,” according to his father, Warren McClendon Sr., speaking to the Athens Banner-Herald.
A few hours after the Bulldogs’ second straight national championship win, Sanford Stadium and the surrounding streets were packed with cheering spectators.
However, in the morning they joined the group to mourn the unexpected deaths of Willock and LeCroy.
