Grand jury indicts Alvin Kamara and 3 others for caning at Las Vegas nightclub

February 2022 incident caught on video, lawyer says
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Clark County grand jury indicted Alvin Kamara and three others for allegedly caning them at a Las Vegas nightclub last year.
Kamara, a running back for the New Orleans Saints, Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Chris Lammons and two other men are being prosecuted in connection with the incident outside of a strip nightclub on February 5, 2022 during NFL Pro Bowl weekend.
The grand jury on Wednesday indicted the four men with conspiracy to commit battery and battery, resulting in serious bodily harm.

The victim, Darnell Greene, told Las Vegas Metro Police that he was waiting alongside a group of people, including the four suspects, outside an elevator at Drai’s Nightclub.
As some elevator doors opened, Kamara put his hand on the victim’s chest to prevent him from entering the elevator, police said.
After the victim pushed Kamara’s hand off his chest, police say Kamara pushed him in front of another suspect, identified as Lammons, punched Greene and pushed him into a wall.
Greene has filed a civil suit in Louisiana. Videos and an audio recording recorded in an SUV after the reported attack have not been released. The lawsuit includes stills from surveillance video and a transcript of the recording.
“Immediately after the vicious beating, Kamara boasted to a member of his group, saying, ‘I connected with him [expletive]’s jaw so hard,” the lawsuit alleges.
“[Kamara] chased Greene down the hallway and hit him multiple times until he was thrown to the ground,” the lawsuit reads. “At no time during the attack did Greene hit, punch or push Kamara or any of his associates.”
The NFL has not commented on the incident and Kamara and Lammons played in the 2022-2023 season.
“The state avoided a contested preliminary hearing by charging Mr. Kamara,” his attorneys David Chesnoff, Drew Findling and Richard Schonfeld said in a statement. “He intends to vigorously fight the allegations in court as he has defended himself and others in court
time of the incident”.
The indictment means the criminal case will immediately bypass the Las Vegas Judicial Court and go to district court. A judge set a court date for March 2.
