Persistent inflation is adding pressure on restaurant and supermarket brands as they compete for increasingly price-conscious consumers, executives said.

As prices escalate on restaurant menus and grocery store shelves, some packaged food manufacturers see more Americans cooking meals at home to save money, while restaurant operators are shifting their services to deal with. US consumers this year are dealing with the highest food inflation in more than 40 years, as well as fears of a possible recession.
