GTA 6 will be revealed in December, Rockstar confirms
It’s finally here – after ten years of Grand Theft Auto 5, a year full of leaks and months of fans wondering if “today is the day”, Rockstar Games has confirmed it. In December 2023, Grand Theft Auto 6 will be fully revealed in its first trailer. This is ground zero – this is where everything takes shape.
In 2011, the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 5 was released and in 2013 the game was released. There are high expectations that GTA 6 will be released in late 2024 or early 2025, and given recent financial forecasts, it appears that Rockstar Games is preparing for that window. This might be the most anticipated game in history – at least until GTA 7 comes out.
Are you excited?
The time has come
In a statement released on Twitter, Sam Houser, the president of Rockstar Games, took to the airwaves to talk about the company’s upcoming 25th anniversary. He talked about the company’s passion for creating some of the most entertaining and popular games the industry has ever seen since the 1990s, but it didn’t stop there.
Houser then dropped a bombshell – confirming rumors that suggested an announcement would be made today.
‘We are very excited to announce that we will be releasing the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto in early December. We look forward to many more years of sharing these experiences with all of you.‘
And suddenly the internet exploded. Expectations are so high for this first look at GTA 6 that many players and fans of the franchise are wondering whether Rockstar Games can really deliver. Can the company live up to the hype? There’s no telling – no game has ever had this much power, and even the 100GB of leaked files from last year didn’t hinder the hype train at all.

There is also the expectation that GTA 6 will be the game to end all games, with intense realism, a huge open world, a compelling story and a world-class multiplayer mode to rival GTA Online. These are all guesses and rumors, but based on the leaks that spread across the internet late last year, it’s entirely possible that everything we’re expecting will be delivered.
Hopefully the trailer that Rockstar Games releases in December will be a full-length offering and not a 30-second teaser with little more than a title card. That would be the most disappointing thing ever – but personally, I trust Rockstar Games to blow our socks off and present something that will really make everyone desperate for a pre-order option.
