Rockstar Games has today announced an expansion of the offerings of its GTA+ subscription service in the form of a “rotating assortment” of free, classic games from the publisher’s inventory. In keeping with the spirit of the service (but probably less exciting for fans) are the first games to be included thanks to this new perk Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Editionthe 2021 package with remastered versions of GTA III, Vice CityAnd San Andreas. Of course, these are widely considered to be one of the worst versions of these games due to some dodgy character models, poor art direction, and a number of technical issues.
There’s no telling what other games will ultimately join the free rotation, but it’s worth noting that GTA+ is currently only available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | is available S. This means that these games must be compatible with both systems, resulting in a relatively short list that includes the likes Harass, LA NoireAnd Max Payne.
Likewise, there is no indication of the period for which each game or series of games will be available. However, most GTA+ perks reset monthly, with the next one scheduled for October 11, 2023.
If you’re new to GTA+, it’s a monthly subscription service that offers a number of bonuses when playing GTA Online. Permanent benefits include $500,000 in-game per month, free ride requests and CEO skills, and discounts on the Gun Van. Other perks are limited-time, including free and discounted cars, clothing and access to specialized equipment.
We now know for sure that Rockstar is working on it Grand Theft Auto VI. However, despite a massive leak a year ago, the company hasn’t given any concrete details about what to expect from it. We’ll keep you updated as soon as we hear anything.
