Pep Guardiola has praised West Ham ace Michail Antonio on Sky Sports – according to Football Daily – claims he has to go to the gym every day. The Hammers put in a wonderful performance to earn a 2-2 draw with Manchester City on Sunday.
Another twist came in Mark Noble’s very last home game at West Ham as the Hammers drew 2-2 with the champions. Jarrod Bowen scored a brace in the first half, a star who is currently a target for City’s challengers Liverpool.
However, City came back in the second half. Jack Grealish’s volley was deflected into the net before Vladimir Coufal scored an own goal. City are four clean but Liverpool have a game on their hands.

Antonio was a real handful throughout the game and while he missed a golden chance to chip Ederson, Guardiola was full of praise for the £7m (post Office) striker. He explained why he’s so difficult to deal with and praised two City stars.
“He goes to the gym every day, this guy is so strong,” said Guardiola. “He’s really, really strong. I want to congratulate Fernandinho and Laporte. They weren’t fit, not 100%, but they dealt with Antonio and it’s not easy.”
West Ham ace Antonio praised by Guardiola: Hammers need another
This season, seventh place secures Europa Conference League qualification – and the Hammers secured that with a draw against City. They still have a chance to overtake Manchester United.
Manchester United meet Crystal Palace in the final game of the season at Selhurst Park while West Ham travel to Brighton. The Hammers have to close the two-point gap, but have the significantly better goal difference.
A real chance, then, of West Ham finishing sixth and Europa League football again – after reaching this season’s semi-finals. Whatever happens, they will definitely need competition for Antonio in the final third.
