Guess what? It’s still hot…

HOT HOT HOT: The upper ridge is almost directly over the southeast and that will bring highs between 97 and 102 across the region today. Another big problem today is the heat index values. We could see heat indices close to or even above 110 degrees today with no expected chance of rain to cool us down. The ridge will remain in place for most of this week. Temperatures can approach or even exceed 100° almost every day this week, with heat indices ranging between 105 and 115°. However, there is good news: as Sunday and next week begin, the ridge will begin to recede and temperatures will begin to drop again. As the dynamics of the atmosphere increase, so does the probability of rain.
WEEKEND: Extreme heat and humidity are likely to continue through the weekend as well, but the ridge begins to retreat Saturday into Sunday. Most of the area will remain dry on Saturday, but chances of rain are increasing on Sunday and that will result in a fairly active pattern next week.
