Halle Berry briefly comments on Drake’s new single cover for “Slime You Out.”
The rapper released his new song, which marks his first collaboration with SZA and is the first from his upcoming album For all dogs, on Friday. The single’s cover art features a picture of Berry getting slimmed down at the 2012 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
Drake and SZA posted the same single cover on their respective Instagram accounts on Wednesday, hinting at their upcoming collaboration without directly saying what it will be or when it will take place.
Berry shared an Instagram post after the single’s release, a pink square with the words “Sometimes you have to be the bigger guy… even if you’re a woman!” on it. In the comments section, an artist who goes by “Slicartist” asked the actress what she thought about Drake using her photo for the single.
“I didn’t get my permission,” she wrote. “That’s not cool, I’ve changed my mind!” She then added another comment to that comment, adding: “Hence my post today. When people you admire disappoint you, you have to be the bigger person and move on!”
Drake announced the single arrived at his tour stop in Austin, Texas, on Monday and said he knew his fans were excited about the album, out Sept. 22, so he wanted to release a single sooner rather than later.
“What a time, what a time. I appreciate you all,” he said during the tour stop with 21 Ssavage. “Deeply, by the way, I do. It’s a lot of love.”
“Slime You Out” isn’t the only collaboration SZA released on Friday. The singer also released an acoustic version of her hit song “Snooze” featuring Justin Bieber, who just starred in her music video for the song’s original version.
