Anne Heche calls Harrison Ford her ‘hero’
The actress faced a difficult point in her career in the late ’90s, having just gone public with girlfriend Ellen DeGeneres.
At the time, same-sex relationships were far less common, especially in the celebrity world, so her job prospects plummeted dramatically.

However, Harrison made sure that didn’t happen. In October 2020, the actress became uncovered that he was the one holding her in the film.
“I wouldn’t have gotten that movie,” she said. “He called me the day after they said I wouldn’t get it because I took Ellen to the premiere and Harrison Ford he was a hero.”
“He said, ‘Honestly, my love, I don’t care who you sleep with. We’re going to do the best romantic comedy there is and see you on set,” she continued.
“Harrison Ford really is my hero. I did him an honor because the truth is that I owe him my public life.”
“I owe him the opportunity to still speak at this level… the platform that has given me is worth so many more millions of dollars than anything I could have earned.”
The actress was paid far less
Speaking of Trade Secrets with Jason Tartick In November 2021, Anne announced that she was paid next to nothing compared to Harrison.
“I think Six Days, Seven Nights made me $125,000 for four months of shooting. And Harrison — and I know this because I made fun of him — he made $20 million,” she said.
The Volcano star also revealed that around the same time she lost a $10 million contract with a film studio and was fired from multiple jobs, all for dating the TV host.
