The trip goes on.

Although only two episodes have aired so far, HBO’s The Last of Us is already taking the world by storm. Fans and critics alike can’t stop raving about how good and faithful this video game adaptation is, with both episodes boasting impressive viewership ratings.

Well, it looks like HBO saw those numbers and decided they’re all in for The Last of Us since it was announced on January 27, 2022 that a second season was already confirmed. The news came via a tweet that simply said, “The journey continues.”

Unfortunately, the tweet didn’t really confirm what the content of HBO’s The Last of Us Season 2 will be, so fans in that department just need to be a little more patient. Depending on how the first season ends, the second iteration of the show could either continue the events of the first game or jump into The Last of Us Part II with a time warp.

Currently, HBO’s The Last of Us has two episodes out, and the first season has a total of nine episodes. That means you’ll have to wait about two more months before you really know what Season 2 has in store.

In the meantime, keep an eye on Twinfinite for more HBO’s The Last of Us news, features, and guides, as we cover and explain just about everything you could hope for regarding the series.
