HGTV Announces New “High Stakes” Series in Las Vegas

What’s happening in Vegas can soon be seen in HGTV’s upcoming series Flip the Strip.

In a press releaseThe network announced its new show will follow the “steaming stars” of “Australia’s Thunder From Down Under” as they work on “high-stakes” renovations during the day.

“Headlining the night, dancers Ben Cleary, Dan Paterson, Liam Black and Malik Wills-Martin fill their days using their extensive construction experience and will work with acclaimed interior designer Kelly Stone to make their clients’ dreams of homes a reality to let it be, “says the series description.

“Australia’s Thunder From Down Under” is a male revue at the Excalibur Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas featuring all Australian dancers, as the show’s website explains. HGTV announced that the upcoming season will consist of six one-hour episodes.

“When we found out these guys were working day renovators on ‘Australia’s Thunder From Down Under,’ we knew we had to put them on HGTV,” said Loren Ruch, head of content at HGTV, in a press release. “These charismatic artists will use their unique combination of home renovation experience and problem-solving skills to create stunning spaces for their clients with Las Vegas’s signature eye-catching flair.”

Flip the Strip is slated to premiere in late summer 2023, HGTV announced in a press release.


Kelly Stone is a Las Vegas-based interior designer

Stone, the owner of Kelly Stone Interiors in Las Vegas, Nevada, celebrated the news in her Instagram story.

“It’s happening right now!” She wrote on Feb. 14, 2023. “We secretly filmed a new show for HGTV!”

According to their websiteStone designs homes and businesses in Sin City and counts Las Vegas Raiders players among her clients.


Flip the Strip is the latest series coming to HGTV in 2023

“Flip the Strip” is the latest in HGTV’s growing lineup of new series, slated for release this year.

Some shows — like “The Flipping El Moussas” or “Christina in the Country” — are the stars of the network’s longtime favorites. But others are watching the stars of reality TV, TikTok and comedy make their network debuts.

Rico León is a Denver-based builder whose Rico to the Rescue series premiered in January 2023. According to an HGTV press releaseIn each episode of the series, “He and his experienced team will tour the home to assess the projects, resolve issues with the owner, and create a renovation and design plan to turn the construction nightmare into a dream home.”

Down Home Fab, starring Chelsea and Cole DeBoer, premiered that same month.

The series spotlights the “Teen Mom 2 stars’ burgeoning home renovation business in their hometown of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.” The network announced this in a press release. “Chelsea’s bold vision will enforce any design plan, while Cole will serve as a hands-on project manager and jack of all trades.” The series has already picked up a second season.

Comedian Mike Epps and his wife Kyra have made it their mission to revitalize his childhood Indianapolis street. This was announced by HGTV in a press release. Her series Buying Back the Block is slated for release in summer 2023, the network added.

“The duo will update each home, adding modern conveniences and retaining the original charm to create affordable and beautiful places for families to buy or rent,” reads the series description.

A new series starring TikTok creator Galey Alix was greenlit by HGTV and is expected to premiere in spring 2023. This was announced by HGTV in a press release.

The eight-episode season “follows Galey, a Wall Street executive by day and designer by night, as she uses her cleverness, passion, and amazing problem-solving techniques to completely transform her clients’ spaces and deliver stunning designs,” the statement reads episode description.
