Sherrod reveals her husband recently called her “Man-ish”.

On August 17, 2022, Sherrod uploaded photos of himself and Jackson attending the Movie “Beasts”. Premiere with the actor Idris Elba. She prefaced her comments by writing, “So… Boss moms will understand and appreciate what I’m about to say.”

The 45-year-old entrepreneur continued, “For years it’s been about my kids and building my business. So much so that I forgot how to be a woman…a soft woman that is. My husband told me a few months ago that I had become “manly” and it hit me to the core. To be honest, he didn’t mean it badly. We are honest with each other and he expressed his concern and observation at how I had become so optimistic about my clients and my family.”

Sherrod said she dealt with his comment by reflecting on his words and reconnecting with her femininity. “I prayed about it and meditated on it,” she said, “then I started pulling out the cute clothes and lingerie again, flirting with him, but most of all listening to him and my divine inner femininity…ME!”

At the film’s premiere, which she says was her second date in a week, Sherrod said she felt her efforts to be more feminine had paid off.

“I smiled heartily from under my skin when I caught my husband (and a few other gentlemen) noticing my femininity,” she wrote. “Ladies roar if you hear me! We CAN do anything and be BEASTS at work and hit the rails for our kids. But we have to turn off the man and bring up the woman and femininity in us again where it matters! I love you.”

While fans read and responded to Sherrod’s candid post, she stayed online and responded to multiple comments, good and bad.

One fan, who loved Sherrod’s insight, wrote: “Yes you are absolutely right. My husband told me that he only loves my femininity. I’m a boss at work, but his wives afterwards.”

Sherrod replied: “It really is something. I’m glad he was brave enough to say it. But deep down, I think I felt it too. I lost the connection and had to find it again.”

Another woman shared: “This is a very real thing. As entrepreneurs in male-dominated industries, we often need to be bullish but remind ourselves to nurture and nurture our femininity. Glad to see you balancing, sis.”

Sherrod replied, “Yes, YOU get it!! We turn it on and off every day. But when we make an effort and strive hard for greatness, we can forget to turn it off and allow ourselves to be loved and vulnerable.”

But not everyone agreed with Sherrod’s stance or Jackson’s criticism. One person wrote: “This is something I’ll never understand why it’s seen as negative when women are more masculine. I’ve never been a feminine woman, there’s no use for me stomp it.”

A fan agreeing with this commenter wrote: “Femininity isn’t just about clothes and heels. It’s the way every woman wants it. Also can’t understand how being successful and strong in business is considered “masculine”. This reads like a bad advice column in a Victorian magazine.”

Sherrod chimed in, writing: “I hear you baby. But I think you missed the point of this post. It’s not that we all feel we need to be more feminine. But some of us actually love being soft and being able to shed the armor and allow ourselves to be loved. The challenge comes when you also work with an Alpha. Two Alphas together will not mix. Someone has to lead and someone has to allow the other to lead sometimes. I personally can and will STOMP…but when I’m at home I don’t want to. I want to leave that in front of the door. Normally I had been able to do that. But he noticed that I wore my armor everywhere. That’s what he meant by ‘manic’.”
