The 911 call that led to the mom influencer’s arrest Ruby Franke and her business partner Jodi Hildebrandt was released on child abuse charges. And folks, the content of it is horrifying.
Obtained in audio from Fox News On Saturday, the 41-year-old social media star’s neighbor contacted police around 10:50 p.m. on August 30 after a frightened 12-year-old boy showed up at his front door in Santa Clara, Utah, begging for help had . The worried man told the emergency dispatcher:
“A 12-year-old boy just stood at my front door and asked for help. He said he had just come from a neighbor’s house and we knew that neighbor had been having problems. He is emaciated. He has duct tape around his legs. He is hungry and thirsty. He told us to call the police. So he is very afraid. I don’t think he needs an ambulance. I’ll leave that to the cops, but his knuckles are taped and he won’t tell us why. … There are wounds all around him.”
Related: Police have been contacted about Ruby Franke’s family several times over the years
Then the neighbor appears to burst into tears before sharing these devastating details:
“I think there’s a good chance he…OK, that boy did it, that boy obviously did it, I think he was locked up.” He’s obviously covered in wounds. …He says what happened to him was his fault. She might come here soon to look for him. … We need the police here as quickly as possible. She’s a bad woman, we didn’t know how bad it was.”
At some point the child identified his mother as Ruby. He also revealed that he was from Jodi’s home and neither of his parents were around, but there were other children in the house. However, these children were not tied up. You can hear the sound of the emergency call (below):
Simply heartbreaking…
After the call, police arrived at the scene and determined the boy’s condition was “serious enough” that he required hospital treatment. They then discovered Ruby’s 10-year-old daughter “in a physical condition similar to malnutrition” and took her to the hospital. From there, four additional children were placed in the care of the Department of Children and Family Services. Apparently law enforcement also felt they were in danger.
Ruby and Jodi were arrested and charged with six counts of child abuse. They are scheduled to appear in court again for a bond hearing on Sept. 21. Reactions to the latest in the case? Let us know in the comments below.
