How to change the weather in Apam Woods in Genshin Impact

If you are visiting Sumerus Apam Woods for the first time, you will find that the area is constantly blanketed in rain. However, there is a way to change the weather in the region to force it to rain consistently, stay sunny, or alternate between the two.

Requirements to change the weather in Apam Woods in Genshin Impact

In order to change the weather in Apam Woods, you must first unlock an Aranara song called the rhythm of the water source by completing the complete Varuna Gatha World Questline:

After completing A Prayer for Rain on Fertile Lands, the Aranara grants you the power to control the Varuna device, which determines the weather in Apam Woods. There are two ways to access the Varuna device.

Varuna Device #1

The first method is to go to the area circled in the image above where you will find a small Varuna contraption.

Varuna Device #2

The second method is to walk The end of the rain via the teleport waypoint circled in the image above. This can be unlocked during the Varuna Gatha World Questline.

How to stop the rain in Apam Woods in Genshin Impact

Stand in front of the Varuna Device of your choice and equip it vintage lyre. Activate it and follow the in-game instructions to play this rhythm of the water source (fa > mi > ti > fa > ti, first four notes on first line, fifth note on second line). Once that’s done, you can to interact using the core of the Varuna Device to change the weather of Apam Woods as follows:

You can track the weather by looking at the core. In the image above, the first image shows rainy weather, the second shows sunny weather, and the third shows cyclical weather, which alternates between the two regularly. Changing the weather for the first time unlocks the Wonders of the World achievement Weather control enabled.
