TikTok users are freaking out over the newly launched profile view history feature. Here’s how to turn it off.
Every social media user has at some point been curious about who is looking at their profile. TikTok has now fulfilled the wish of many who wanted to know the identity of their profile viewers.
Platform users can now see who viewed their profile in the last 30 days. However, many TikTokers are not too enthusiastic about the feature as their stalking habits are now being exposed.

How do I turn off profile views on TikTok?
The feature has been operational since early 2021, but wasn’t available to everyone before then. As it is becoming more and more widespread now, many users are freaking out about it.
How to turn it off:
- Open your TikTok profile in the bottom right corner of the app
- Now hover over the top right corner and select the three dashes
- Click on the eye icon you see there
- You can then see the option to “Turn off profile view history” if you had it previously enabled.
- Tap on the “Turn off” option and you’re all set.
This allows you to view someone else’s TikTok without them finding out.
What is the point of profile views?
As the name suggests, the profile view history feature allows you to see who has viewed your profile in the last 30 days.
It boasts of following functions:
- Other users can see if you’ve viewed their profile in the last 30 days
- Only you can see who viewed your profile
- Only viewers who have activated the option themselves and viewed your profile in the last 30 days will be shown to you.
Users are freaking out about the feature
Many TikTok users who frequently stalk other users are afraid of the new feature’s launch.
“The Profile Views feature on TikTok is scary,” wrote one user.
“How do I remove these profile views on TikTok? I just want to peacefully stalk people man😭,” tweeted another.
“TikTok bringing back profile views is evil. Worst of this year,” said another frustrated user.
